The Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch Features a clean and easy installation by quickly dropping the posts into the base of your OEM Tow Ready Truck. Place the Base into the four holes, locking each into place. Place the coupler on the arm mounts and place the pins, you're ready to go.
The Companion handle operates effortlessly and never leaves you in a bind. Thanks to the use of a Cam locking design. When the handle is open the cam moves out of the way allowing the jaws to open, when you pull away and uncouple. When the handle is closed the cam prevents the jaws from opening, preventing accidental release scenario.
The Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch is machined to precisely fit your coupler, so their is no room for sloppiness while towing. The Shock absorber allows side to side movements without slamming and the whole coupler rides on polyurethane bushings that absorb roughness from the road and terrain.
To create an option to adjust for both height and distance, the Companion offers a series of holes in the base that gives you control over both. Switching the the slanted arms from one side to the other can offer a further increase in distance. You can also select the optional Companion Slider that will help short bed trucks navigate tighter corners. With a quick flip of the lever and the Companion unlocks to allow for an additional 12 inches of travel so your can maneuver without getting the trailer into the cab of your truck. Flip the level back into the original position and the Companion will lock back into place as you back up and you'll be ready to tow again.
